Here, he plays three Grand Funk classics and also provides insights into the fascinating history of the band.   Horacio Hernandez featuring, Marc Quinones, with Michael Brecker, John Patitucci and Hilario Duran: "El Negro" is one of the most exciting drummers to come along in recent years. His style is rooted in the rhythms of his native Cuba (as demonstrated by his complete command of the left foot clave), though he is comfortable in all styles of music. With a band made up of some of the finest players in the world, including the great percussionist Marc Quinones, Horacio performs a set that opens with a burning drums and percussion duet, and that incorporates elements of jazz and Afro-Cuban music in an incredibly exciting way.
